Pakistan will face the UAE in a crucial Asia Cup clash, following their defeat to India. Both teams have two points each, making this a must-win encounter, with the victor securing a place in the Super 4s.

Although Pakistan, the higher-ranked side, holds a 3-0 head-to-head advantage over the UAE, the match is expected to be competitive, with UAE likely to challenge the Men in Green.

Why the toss between Pakistan and UAE was delayed

The toss, originally scheduled for 7:30 PM IST, was delayed after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) threatened to boycott the Asia Cup. The PCB had requested the ICC to remove match referee Andy Pycroft, unhappy with his role in the handshake controversy during the India game. The ICC denied the request, prompting PCB to ask its players to remain at the team hotel.

PCB officials, including Mohsin Naqvi, Ramiz Raja, and Najam Sethi, held a meeting to decide the next steps. The team eventually left the hotel for the stadium, signaling they would participate. The toss is now expected at 8:30 PM IST, with the match starting at 9:00 PM.
