Asia Cup 2022: Rahul Dravid recovers from COVID, rejoins team ahead of IND Vs PAK

The former India skipper has now fully recovered after undergoing home isolation since returning positive in the test conducted on August 23.

Rahul Dravid, the head coach, has tested negative for COVID-19 and is about to join the Indian team before their eagerly awaited Asia Cup opening against Pakistan on Sunday.

In a routine test conducted prior to the team's departure for the continental event, Dravid tested positive for the virus. The former India skipper has now fully recovered after undergoing home isolation since returning positive in the test conducted on August 23.

"Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid has tested positive for COVID-19 in a routine test conducted ahead of the team's departure to the UAE for Asia Cup 2022.


"Dravid is under the supervision of the BCCI Medical team and has mild symptoms. He will join the team once he returns with a negative COVID-19 report," said BCCI secretary Jay Shah in a release.

After testing positive, the former captain of India didn't travel with the team, and the BCCI named NCA head VVS Laxman as interim coach for India.
