Arshad Nadeem's Pakistani Independence Day wish goes viral as snores heard in background

Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan's Olympic gold medal javelin thrower, shared an Independence Day video on social media platform Instagram. However, the video went viral for the wrong reasons. A person was heard snoring in the background in the video where the athlete calls for Pakistanis to be united.


"On Pakistan's Independence Day, I appeal to the people of Pakistan to take a pledge on this day that we stay united," Nadeem said, delivering a passionate message. "Like how on August 8th after I bagged gold at the Paris Olympics we witnessed a wave of joy not only in Pakistan but among Pakistanis worldwide. I wish you stand by me and, like how I have changed my profile pictures on social media for August 14th stating 'United we stand,' I want all of you to stand with me and change your profile pictures. Let's show the world that United we stand," said the Olympic record holder.



Nadeem deleted the video upon realising that the video had caught the background noise and posted a new one without any disturbances. However netizens were quick to catch on and reacted to create hilarious memes.


Majority of social media users found it hilarious.







Apart from tweets, the post also revived sarcastic comments.


While a few found the video funny, others called for a PR agency to represent Nadeem to avoid such mistakes in the future.


There were some who came out in support of Nadeem and called him a genuine person who had not doctored a video for social media like most people.
