The 25-year-old left-arm seamer, the son of Sachin Tendulkar, took 5 wickets for just 25 runs in 9 overs, including three maidens. This was his 17th first-class match.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Arunachal Pradesh stumbled early when Arjun bowled opener Nabam Hachang in the second over. Despite a brief stand by Neelam Obi (22) and Chinmay Patil (3) to stabilize the innings, Arjun struck twice in the 12th over, putting the visitors in further trouble.
By the time Arjun completed his five-wicket feat, Arunachal were struggling at 36/5 in 17.1 overs. Captain Nabam Abo offered some resistance with an unbeaten 25 off 25 balls, hitting five boundaries, but his team was eventually bowled out for a mere 84 in 31 overs.
Arunachal’s batting woes were compounded by the support from Goa’s bowlers Mohit Redkar (3/15) and Keith Mark Pinto (2/31), who helped wrap up the innings.
Prior to this match, Arjun had taken 32 wickets in 16 first-class games, with a previous best of 4/49. He has also shown promise with the bat, scoring 532 runs at an average of 23.13, including a century and two fifties.
