Anurag Thakur blames Lodha Committee for not giving time

MUMBAI: At a time when the Supreme Court has taken a harsh stance against the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI) and its president Anurag Thakur for not complying with the recommendations of the Lodha Committee as well as showing defiance, Thakur has come out and blamed the Lodha Committee for not giving the board time to present its case.

Talking to reporters in Jaipur, Thakur maintained that 85% of the recommendations of the committee have already been implemented, while there are some, which the board members find not practical.

"The members do not agree on three-four recommendations citing they are not practical. To convey this, we sought time but the committee is not giving us time for the last two months," Thakur said.He added that while the matter is subjudice he has full faith in the Indian judicial system.

The Supreme Court has reserved its order in the case pf Lodha Committee versus BCCI. The committee has asked for removal of the entire top brass. The court is expected to announce its order on January 2, after it resumes post winter vacations.

Meanwhile, Thakur went on to add that the BCCI has brought, even before the recommendations, many reforms and that BCCI is one of the best run boards across the world.

"We are the number one team in Tests, number two in T20s and number three in ODIs," he said. "So where are shortcomings? Pressure is being created unnecessarily on us," he added.
