Allahabad High Court seeks response from BCCI, UPCA on age determination process
LUCKNOW: The Allahabad High Court has sought response of Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI) and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) within six weeks on a PIL seeking a direction for uniform criteria of age determination for cricket players during selection.

The Lucknow bench issued the notices yesterday on a PIL filed by Prem Kumar Singh alleging that at present different processes were adopted which was "discriminatory and hence bad in eyes of law".

The petitioner's counsel Manjeev Shukla alleged that in some places a player's age was determined through medical examination, while at others it was based on documents.

According to the counsel, a bench of justices V K Shukla and B K Srivastava issued notices to BCCI and UPCA, asking them to file their replies within six weeks.
