All India Baba Farid cup Hockey from September 19

FARIDKOT: At least 12 national level teams will be vying for honours when the 24th All India Baba Farid Gold Cup Hockey tournament is held here from September 19 to 23.

Punjab and Sind Bank was the winner of last year and Northeren Railways New Delhi was runners up.

Indian Air Force New Delhi, Army Eleven Red Bangalore, Signals Jalandhar, EME Jalandhar, Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala, Punjab Police Jalandhar, Border Security Force Jalandhar, CRPF New Delhi, CISF Jalandhar, Nothern Railways New Delhi, CISF Delhi and CRPF New Delhi are the teams participating in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the 6th Baba Farid Gold Cup Woman Hockey is also scheduled to be held from September 21 to 23.

Rail Coach Farctory Kapurthala, Fatehgarh Sahib Guru Granth Sahib World University, Chandigarh Academy and Sonepat Academy woman Hockey teams are participating in woman league.

On the occasion, three former Hockey Olympions will be honoured namely Balbir Singh, Mukhbain Singh and Varinder Singh.
