Team India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah gave Dubai a moment to remember on Sunday night. Under the floodlights of the Asia Cup 2025 final, he sent Haris Rauf’s stumps cartwheeling with a trademark yorker—and then lit up the stadium with a cheeky “jet crash” celebration that had Indian fans in raptures.

It wasn’t just the dismissal, but the gesture that followed. With a grin, Bumrah mimicked Rauf’s own airplane celebration - only this time, signaling the plane crashing. The crowd erupted, and social media instantly found its viral clip of the night.

The gesture carried extra spice. In the Super Four clash a week earlier, Rauf had mocked Indian fans with his “0–6” airplane taunt, a reference to Pakistan’s unsubstantiated claims of downing six Indian fighter jets after Operation Sindoor earlier this year. That stunt had sparked outrage and ridicule online, with many Indian fans reminding Rauf of Virat Kohli’s iconic twin sixes off him in the 2022 T20 World Cup at Melbourne—one of which the ICC called the “Shot of the Century.”

The Bharat Army, the official Team India Supporters Group, also posted the celebration on their X, saying, "Wicket Down", using a wink emoji.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, also posted on X, "Flight land Kara di Bumrah ne (Bumrah made the flight land).

Bumrah’s reply, therefore, was cold, clinical, and playful. Rauf, his first victim of the night and Pakistan’s ninth wicket, barely had time to adjust before Bumrah produced a skidding, venomous yorker that flattened his off-stump. The follow-up celebration was pure theatre: a pacer at the peak of his powers reminding Pakistan who was in charge.

By then, Pakistan’s innings had already unraveled. From a strong 84-run opening stand between Fakhar Zaman (46) and Sahibzada Farhan (57), the rest of the line-up folded under India’s relentless pressure. Varun Chakaravarthy (2/30) and Kuldeep Yadav (4/30) spun a web in the middle overs, while Axar Patel chipped in with vital strikes. Bumrah, expensive up front, returned to finish with 2/25 and the wicket that fans will remember for years.

Pakistan eventually limped to 146 all out, losing their last eight wickets for just 62 runs. India’s spinners strangled the middle order, and Bumrah’s late strike was the final nail.
