Air India waives handling charge on shooters' arms
Air India has decided to waive handling charges on arms and ammunition carried by shooters travelling for competition.

Air India's handling charges for carriage of arms and ammunition stands at Rs 5000 plus taxes in the domestic sector and US $100 (or equivalent amount) plus taxes for international flights.
But it has waived off the charges on shooters. "Sportsman traveling either domestic or International for a competition or representing the country are exempted from payment of handling charges," Air India said in a statement.
To avail the waiver, the shooters will have to furnish an identification document, which can be a photo ID card issued by a government agency or the federation. They are also required to have valid arms licenses in their possession.
