A 13-year-old crorepati: What you need to know about youngest player at auction picked by RR for Rs 1.10 cr
13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history at the IPL 2025 auction, being sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore, becoming a crorepati at a young age. Vaibhav first gained attention at age 12 in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, scoring nearly 400 run...

Vaibhav rose to prominence when he played in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy for Bihar at the age of 12, accumulating around 400 runs in just five matches.
Vaibhav, selected for the India B U-19 team for the Under-19 quadrangular series in Mulapadu, Andhra Pradesh, in November 2023, has continued to make significant progress in his budding career.
The series, which also featured India A, Bangladesh, and England U-19 teams, served as a trial for the ICC U-19 World Cup 2024. Opening the innings, Vaibhav scored 41 against England, a duck against Bangladesh, and eight against India A, but fell short of securing a spot in the final squad.
However, the talented youngster quickly bounced back, catching the eye of Bihar selectors during a U-23 selection camp, earning a place in the state's Ranji Trophy squad.
In January 2024, he made his first-class debut for Bihar in a Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match against a formidable Mumbai side in Patna.
At just 12 years and 284 days old, Vaibhav became the youngest Indian to debut in first-class cricket since 1986 and the second-youngest ever to play in the Ranji Trophy for Bihar, marking another remarkable milestone in his promising career.
