3 things to look forward to in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday
Real Madrid face Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, but the real action will happen on Wednesday when Bayern Munich face Paris St. Germain and Chelsea travel to Spain to face Atletico Madrid.

Here are three major talking points that could ensue and ones that should be looked forward to:
Locker Room Fights
Bayern Munich play PSG in Paris, the game of the match day, with both tackling unsettled locker rooms. Losing to Hoffenheim, 2-0, and then drawing 2-2 at home to Wolfsburg – throwing away a twogoal lead, have driven a wedge between the stars of Munich and coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Thomas Mueller had said about being benched last month: “I don’t know exactly which qualities the coach wants to see, but mine don’t seem to be 100 percent in demand.”
Franck Ribery then hurled his shirt after being substituted in last week’s Champions League win, a game that Arjen Robben thought they should have won better since Anderlecht played 80 minutes with 10 men.
Even so, it’ll be exciting to see Kylian Mbappe, Cavani and Neymar face their first big test.
‘Circus Maximus’
It may lack a final lick of paint but “it appears like the Circus Maximus,” crowed proud Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone at the special atmosphere already produced by his club’s new Wanda Metropolitano home.
Fears that Atletico’s home form could slump due to the move have been blown away by wins over Malaga and Sevilla. It’ll be put to test in the Champions League as a sensational home form under Simeone at the Calderon has been essential to their European campaigns. In 23 home games under him, Atleti have won 18, lost only once and kept 18 clean sheets. A modern new home is a symbol of how much Atletico have grown on and off the field since the last time they played Chelsea, in 2014. Chinese conglomerate Wanda, who bought 20% stake in the club in 2015, paid for the naming rights to help with the €310 million bill.
Midfield Crisis
The absence of key midfielders due to injury will have no impact on the Manchester United team’s quality in their Champions League match against CSKA Moscow, manager Jose Mourinho said. United will be without Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick, leaving Mourinho with Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera as the only experienced central midfielders available for the game on Wednesday.
