External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the global landscape is being reshaped by the United States’ “radical repositioning” and China’s growing influence. Speaking at the 62nd Munich Security Conference, Jaishankar said Washington had “deliberately become a lonelier power” while Beijing’s rise has intensified strategic competition. He also warned that the rivalry is no longer limited to the US and China, with countries increasingly using their economic, technological and strategic leverage as tools of competition. At the same time, he noted that this growing rivalry exists alongside deep global interdependence, making the international order increasingly complex.
