Mahindra & Mahindra Chairman and billionaire Anand Mahindra shared a video on social media platform X demonstrating a technology that uses infrared rays to locate veins, aiming to reduce the discomfort of multiple attempts in finding a vein during blood draws.

The video depicted how the appearance of veins changed as pressure was applied to the patient's hand.

"Saving the pain from repeated attempts to find a vein while drawing blood," Mahindra said.


He added, "It’s often the smallest, least glamorous inventions which significantly improve our medical experience and hence, the quality of our lives…"

Applauding the innovation, one X user named The GiTFD PM said, "This is brilliant and could prevent a lot of phobias. From personal experience, the practically of this would have saved a number of traumas. Helps the professional and the patient."

Expressing discontent with nurses, another user said, "We know why they finally developed this, because 9/10 times the nurses can’t get it even close."
