Get ready for an exhilarating moment in space exploration as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) embarks on a remarkable journey to the Moon's southern pole with the landing of Chandrayaan-3.

Chandrayaan-3 is all set to touch down on the uncharted territory of the Moon's south pole. This region is of immense scientific interest due to its potential water ice deposits and unique geological features. The mission aims to unravel mysteries about the Moon's geological history and possibly provide insights into the early evolution of our solar system.

This historic event is set to take place on Wednesday, August 23 at approximately 6:04 pm Indian Standard Time. The live telecast of the landing operations at Mission Operation Complex (MOX) will begin at 17: 20 IST on Wednesday. India's third lunar mission can be streamed live from 5:27 pm.

The event will be broadcasted live on DD National TV.

In its latest update on Chandrayaan-3 soft landing, ISRO has said the mission is on schedule and systems are undergoing regular checks. It also released a series of up-close images of the moon. These images assist the lander module in determining its position (latitude and longitude) by matching them against an onboard moon reference map.

This mission, if it turns out to be fruitful, will make India the only country to have marked its presence on the lunar south pole which is considered to be difficult for its rough and harsh conditions, and fourth – after US, China, and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface.
