Days before the Independence Day, the Indian Space Research Organisation will launch a geo-imaging satellite on baord GSLV-F10 on August 12 from the Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh.

Technical issues
The satellite was originally set to be launched on March 5, 2020. But due to technical issues, the launch was postponed. The launch is now finally set for Thursday at 5.43 AM.

Eye in the sky
The GISAT-1 satellite is essentially, India's eye in the sky. The satellite is expected to help monitor locations that are of interest to India. It will also help India quickly monitor natural disasters and any short-term event. GISAT-1 is expected to present itself as motionless as it will travel at the rate of the Earth's rotation.
