How satellites have become integral part of our day to day life?
You may or may not believe in star signs, but a majority of our day-to-day activities are reliant on outer space for guidance. From TV to GPS and weather apps in our mobile phones, we are surrounded by satellite-based products.

From October 1957, when the Soviets put Sputnik-1 in orbit, satellite technology has come a long way. As of January 2015, there were 1,265 operational satellites, a majority owned by America. China, Russia, Japan, UK and India follow.

More than half are communication satellites while nearly one-fourth are used for earth observation-weatherclimate monitoring, remote sensing and so on.
