Who is Shubhanshu Shukla?
Shubhanshu Shukla is a 40-year-old astronaut selected by ISRO for the Gaganyaan mission. He holds an M.Tech in aerospace engineering from IISc Bangalore and has over 2,000 flying hours on various fighter jets like Su-30 MKI and MiG. He will also conduct food and nutrition experiments on the ISS.

Shukla’s role in the mission
As the mission pilot, Shukla will assist in flying the Crew Dragon spacecraft, managing the launch, docking, and return to Earth. On the ISS, he and the team will spend around 14 days performing over 60 science experiments in areas like material science, biology, and Earth studies.
