China’s long term moon mission

Over the past few years, China has sent multiple moon missions, becoming the first nation since 1976 to retrieve lunar rocks.

In a bid to establish its dominance in space, the Asian nation has laid out plans for the next decade, even signing an agreement with Russia to set up a lunar research station.

If and when the research station is successful, China expects to keep astronauts on the moon for extended periods to aid research at the Southern pole.

China still faces significant challenges on putting a man on the moon, with their engine technology still needing major work, work they hope will see a breakthrough in 2021-25.

However, China still lags behind America in terms of experience in space exploration, with NASA being one of the most advanced space agencies in the world. America plans to put people on the moon again in 2024.
