Bengaluru: Amazon Web Services (AWS) India Private Ltd has expanded its cloud service offerings to premier research organisation Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) to help it accelerate research in genome sequencing.

The announcement was made by AWS India at the Public Sector Symposium in New Delhi on Friday. This follows a series of similar partnerships in India's public sector across healthcare, education, and space industries.

"AWS has already seen reduced time taken for genomics analysis by up to 98% (from 550 days to just 9 days), accelerating research efforts on the study of genetics and human diseases," Rahul Sharma, regional managing director, Asia Pacific & Japan, public sector at AWS, told ET.
