Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said he would give “zero marks” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11-year term as widespread publicity had been fuelling the NDA regime. “He has just completed 11 years,” he told media persons in Mysuru.

Modi’s demonitisation had been a big failure and Achhe Din never came. He promised two crore jobs every year, but nothing happened. He promised to end the problems of farmers, but they sat on a dharna for one whole year. He did not do anything ‘major’ in 11 years but just completed them, Siddaramaiah said in response to media queries.

Wide media publicity had been Modi’s strength, the CM said. When his regime announced welfare guarantees, the PM warned the states would go bankrupt after implementing them, but “he copied the guarantees in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. When Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat, he campaigned for devolution of 50% of central taxes to states, but forgot about it after he became the PM.

In the NDA regime, Karnataka had been denied its fair share of resources as recommended by the finance commission and his state had suffered injustice, Siddaramaiah said, adding that the BJP indulges in misinformation campaigns when the state asserts its rights.
