Zee News editor seeks Court monitoring of probe by Delhi Police

A local court will on Thursday hear a application moved by Zee News editor Sudhir Chaudhary asking for court monitoring of the police probe against him.

NEW DELHI: A local court will on Thursday hear a application moved by Zee News editor Sudhir Chaudhary asking for court monitoring of the police probe against him and asking for directions to be issued to Delhi police to seize the phones and phone records of MP Naveen Jindal and his two relatives.

Zee News in a statement said that the counsel of Zee Group head Subhash Chandra had also submitted a representation in the Saket District Court asking the court to issue orders and directions to Delhi Police for obtaining the call records of MP Naveen Jindal and his two relatives, Prithvi Jindal and Sitaram Jindal.

Chandra is also seeking a court-monitored investigation of the case, alleging that the police is not investigating the case properly. The plea says Delhi Police should carry out the probe after considering the version of Chandra.

The Zee statement also said that Chandra voluntarily visited the Chanakyapuri Police Station on Wednesday evening and stated that it was wrong on part of the police authorities to spread unattributed stories in the media that he had denied possession of the UK number. After the 30-minute meeting, Chandra said that he voluntarily came and the police had not called him for questioning.
