Zee Group seeks court-monitored investigation in Naveen Jindal case
NEW DELHI: The Zee Group on Monday filed an application in a local court asking for a "court-monitored" investigation, and accused the Delhi Police of carrying out a one-sided probe against it. It has also demanded that Congress MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal be questioned in the matter.

In its application, the Zee Group said Jindal, his brother Prithvi Jindal and uncle Sitaram Jindal should be questioned by the Delhi Police and their call records should be seized. It said the Delhi Police was solely relying on Jindal's complaint. The Zee Group said the court should instruct the Delhi Police to compare the contradictions in Jindal's FIR filed on October 2, 2012 and his petition filed in the Mumbai High Court. The group also denied that their chairman Subhash Chandra had instructed the group's employees on any matter related to Jindal.

Meanwhile, the police also asked a local court for permission to subject Chandra, Zee News head Sudhir Chaudhary and Zee Business Editor Samir Ahluwalia to lie-detector tests. The court has issued a notice to all the three persons seeking their response on December 12 on the police plea to subject them to the lie-detector tests. Under the present law, no person can be subjected to a lie-detector test without his or her consent. The two arrested editors have meanwhile been sent to judicial custody till December 22.
