YSRTP chief YS Sharmila caused a controversy on Sunday by comparing Telangana to Afghanistan and KCR to Taliban.

"He (Telangana CM KCR) is a dictator, he is a tyrant, there is no Indian Constitution in Telangana, there is only KCR's Constitution. Telangana is the Afghanistan of India and KCR is its Taliban," Sharmila told mediapersons in Mahbubabad.

Sharmila was detailed by the police for allegedly making inappropriate remarks against Mahabubabad MLA and BRS leader Shankar Naik.

At a meeting, Sharmila allegedly slammed the Mahabubabad MLA for not fulfilling his promises. "You gave many promises to the people, which you have not fulfilled. If you are not fulfilling your promises, that means you are a kojja [castrate]," local media reported her as saying.

After the detention, she was moved to Hyderabad to avoid any law and order problems in Mahabubabad.

A case was registered against her under section 504 of the Indian Penal Code (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace] and section 3(1)r of the SC ST POA Act.

Following Sharmila's comments, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) staged a protest against her over her alleged derogatory remarks.

At the protests, there were "Go Back Sharmila" slogans and burning of hoardings and flexes of her party.
