Prior to him two other YSRCP MPs -- Mopidevi Venkataramana and Beeda Mastan Rao resigned from the upper house in August year making way for TDP to open its account in the upper house.
Both these MPs switched to TDP, and Beeda Mastan Rao was renominated to the Rajya Sabha by AP's ruling party.
However, Vijaysai Reddy in a post on social media platform on X made it clear that he would step away from active politics and stated that his future endeavours would focus on agriculture.
Reddy worked as financial advisor to the YS family and was also among the main accused in the corruption cases involving former Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Vijayasai Reddy also clarified that he would not go on to join any other political party, emphasising his decision to retire from politics is purely personal and not taken under any pressure or influence.
Meanwhile, YSRCP's strength in the Upper House has now come down to six and with buzz going around in the political corridors of the national capital is that few more are about to jump the ship.
