YSRCP gets permission to hold public meet for united Andhra Pradesh

However, another representation was made from the party to the city Police seeking to hold the meet on October 26.

HYDERABAD: After Andhra Pradesh High Court gave nod to YSR Congress party to hold its public meeting in support of united Andhra Pradesh, the city police today accorded permission to the party to organise the meeting here on October 26.

The AP High Court on October 16 allowed the petition of the party and directed the police for grant of permission to YSR Congress Party to conduct a public meeting for Samaikhyandhra on October 19.

However, another representation was made from the party to the city Police seeking to hold the meet on October 26 which while granting the permission imposed 18 conditions to be strictly adhered to by the organiser (YSR Congress Party) for its proposed meet at L B Stadium here.

"Pursuant to the order of the High Court of Andhra permission is hereby accorded to YSR Congress Party to conduct a public meeting for Samaikhyandhra on October 26 at L B Stadium from 2 pm to 5 pm," Police said in a statement.

The organisers of the proposed meet were directed to ensure that the public meeting is conducted in an orderly manner without giving scope for any sort of disturbance and they will be held responsible for the damage and destruction of private and public properties, consequence to the meeting held.

"As per the order of High Court of AP, the organiser ( YSRCP) shall furnish an undertaking that no inflammatory speeches and no incitement to any offence be attempted at the meeting by the speakers/leaders and no private or public property be destroyed/damaged in the process of conducting the public meeting," the police statement further said.

Police said they have inputs that some anti-social elements are likely to mingle with the participants in the stadium and may cause disturbance/indulge in violence.

And hence, the police sought cooperation from the organisers for assisting it identifying the participants attending the meeting and to perform watchers duty to identify suspicious persons/anti-social elements, if any, who may enter into Lal Bahadur Stadium under the guise of participants.
