YSR Congress leader Chokkakula Venkata Rao joins BJP

VISAKHAPATNAM: Former District President of YSR Congress Party, Chokkakula Venkata Rao alongwith his supporters today joined the BJP here in the presence of State BJP chief K Hari Babu.

Welcoming Rao into the partyfold, Babu who is also a Visakhpatnam Lok Sabha member said the BJP was gaining support in the state as people have a lot of faith in the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.

He said that the party's state wide membership drive will launch from this evening in all 13 districts in a big way.

Babu said that nearly one crore people have joined the party in the state through toll free number.

BJP legislator from Visakhapatnam North, P Vishnu Kumar Raju said with the support of Rao the constituency can be developed into a model one.

Rao had unsuccessfully contested against Vishnu Kumar on YSRCP ticket from the seat in the last assembly elections.

Rao while addressing the gathering said he was impressed by the leadership and functioning of Prime Minister Modi who is working hard for the development of the country.

He said he along with his supports would work for the strengthening of BJP in the state particularly in the district.
