Six youths looted 10 lakh rupees and 50 'tolas' of gold ornaments from the house of a city businessman after threatening his wife on gun point in the wee hours here today.

LUDHIANA: Six youths looted 10 lakh rupees and 50 'tolas' of gold ornaments from the house of a city businessman after threatening his wife on gun point in the wee hours here today.
Trsem Gupta, owner of a spinning mill, was returning home from Rajkot in his car along with his wife Kiran Gupta and two minor sons when they were stopped at Mullanpur by the youths.
The youth, who were travelling in a car forced Kiran to accompany them to her house in Naginder nagar, where they looted the booty on gun point, police said.
They later released other members of the family who had been stopped at Mullanpur, about 38 kilometres from here.
