Youth Congress slams Giriraj Singh's anti-Sonia Gandhi comments
MUMBAI: Youth Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Brar today described the Union Minister Giriraj Singh's comments against Sonia Gandhi, as "shameful".

He alleged that BJP leaders keep making such comments and they had the tacit support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The minister has kicked up a row with his remarks asking whether Congress would have accepted Sonia Gandhi's leadership had she not been white-skinned.

Addressing a press conference here today, Brar said that the Youth Congress has been collecting signatures of farmers on postcards citing opposition to the BJP government's Land Acquisition Act ordinance.

"We plan to collect 50 lakh post cards and submit these to the President of India on April 22," he said.

Brar admitted that the process of internal elections to elect Youth Congress office bearers has given rise to factionalism.

"Every move has its pros and cons. We are trying to plug loopholes. It is because of this internal democracy, that an ordinary worker like me could became Youth Congress chief," he said.
