A 28-year-old scientist allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan in Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant in Rawatbhatta.

JAIPUR: A 28-year-old scientist allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant in Rawatbhatta, police said today.

Lavish Sappal used to live alone in the house inside RAPP colony of Chittorgarh district. He was found hanging from a ceiling fan by his neigbour yesterday morning, the police said.

The neigbour noticed Sappal's tiffin laying on the door for the last one day after which police was informed, who broke open the entrance door.

The deceased was in RAPP service for the last 2 to 3 years and was also preparing for Civil Service examination, according to his father.

Stress is suspected to be the main cause behind the suicide, police said.

The body was handed over to his parents who came from Sri Ganganagar late in the evening, police said.

No one in RAPP administration was ready to comment on the incident.

A case was registered under section 174 of IPC and it would be probed, they said.
