NEW DELHI: Newly elected Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today promised ‘Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas’.

In his last speech in the Lok Sabha today, as he resigned from the lower house to take charge of UP as CM, he promised to make UP the “dream state” and to create an economy so that the youth don’t have to fled to other parts of the country for jobs.

“Uttar Pradesh will be the dream state of the honourable prime minister. It will be an ideal state. It will be free of corruption, riots, lawlessness and goondaraj, and in UP we will create such a model of development that the youth of the state won’t have to flee,” Adityanath said.

Yogi was also all praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and termed him as a “global icon”.

“In the last three years, this govt has managed to take the growth rate to 8 and 8.5 percent. This surprised the whole world...the world wondered what will happen to India's growth after demonetisation...but the finance minister successfully managed to reignite the economy,” Yogi added.

He also added how the Jan Dhan Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana have changed the lives of poor.

The newly elected UP CM also said that the recently concluded election was a slap in the face of opposition. He also took a dig at the previous Samajwadi Party government saying that it had no economic model and it failed to use even the central funds released by the Modi government.

He claimed credit for bringing about changes in Gorakhpur, which he admitted did not enjoy a positive image among people earlier.

Now, he said, no trader in Gorakhpur paid "goonda tax", the town did not witness incidents of abduction and there were no communal riots in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

"We will be successful in generating the same situation in Uttar Pradesh."
