Yogi Adityanath calls youth UP’s ‘biggest asset’, urges them to link personal goals with nation-building

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has placed the state’s youth at the centre of his latest letter to citizens, urging adolescents and young people to use the opportunities available to them and align their personal goals with the larger objective of nation-building.

In his latest edition of ‘Yogi Ka Paati’, Yogi said youth is the “greatest asset” of Uttar Pradesh and that the goal of building a developed state can be achieved through the energy, talent, discipline and determination of its young population.

Addressing the people of the state, Yogi said adolescence and youth are a “golden phase” of life- a period when dreams take shape, personality is forged and the desire to achieve something significant grows stronger. He said this phase also determines whether a young person’s energy and potential will only shape their own future or help take society and the nation in a new direction.

Drawing on examples from India’s history, Yogi said several personalities demonstrated that age need not be a barrier to making a lasting contribution. He cited Adi Shankaracharya, who at a young age united India’s spiritual consciousness, and Swami Vivekananda, who as a young man carried India’s cultural and spiritual strength to the global stage.

He also recalled the sacrifices of young freedom fighters, including Babu Bandhu Singh, Khudiram Bose, Rajendra Nath Lahiri, Thakur Roshan Singh and Pandit Ram Prasad ‘Bismil’. Yogi said their lives reflected an unwavering resolve to dedicate themselves to the nation.

“Since the time I was first elected to the Lok Sabha at the age of 26 and took the vow of public service,” Yogi said, the ideals of serving the nation and its people have remained paramount for him.

Focusing on the present, the chief minister said the state government is providing opportunities for young people to move forward in areas including education, skill development, employment, self-employment and sports. He urged adolescents and youth to make use of these opportunities and connect their individual resolve with the broader goal of nation-building.

Yogi also called on young people to make regular yoga and exercise part of their lives to strengthen themselves. He urged them to embody the values represented by the Tricolour- valour, peace and prosperity, in their own lives, while rising above caste considerations and choosing the path of unity and harmony.

The letter also linked the youth-focused message with the conclusion of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi said the campaign had culminated in the unfurling of the Tricolour across five crore households in the state and congratulated citizens for participating in it with enthusiasm and zeal.

He said the state’s newfound strength was reflected in achievements across different sectors, while invoking Independence Day as a reminder of the unwavering resolve of those who sacrificed their lives for the country.

Yogi concluded his message by placing the responsibility of self-development and nation-building on the shoulders of young people. He said the construction of a developed Uttar Pradesh would depend on their energy, talent, discipline and determination, describing the state’s youth power as its greatest asset.
