Yogesh Kumar Tyagi is new Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University
Yogesh Kumar Tyagi, currently Dean of Faculty of Legal Studies at South Asian University, was today appointed Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University.

The HRD ministry appointed Tyagi for a term of five years after his name was chosen from a panel of four persons by President Pranab Mukherjee, who is the Visitor of all central universities.
The appointment of the DU VC had been pending for three months since Singh left that office on October 28 last year and Sudheesh Pachauri was the acting VC.
Last week, the HRD ministry had forwarded a panel of four names to the President who makes the final selection.
Tyagi will take over at DU, where his predecessor Singh had an eventful tenure which saw massive controversy over the Four Year Undergraduate Programme ( FYUP) which was later rolled back after intervention by the University Grants Commission.
Singh was also served a show cause notice by the HRD ministry for alleged financial and administrative irregularities. However, the notice was later nullified considering that he anyway had just a few months left in his tenure.
