Yoga guru Ramdev calls on Punjab CM
CHANDIGARH: Yoga Guru Ramdev today made a 'courtesy call' on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at his official residence here.

"Ramdev confirmed his participation in the celebrations of the 350th foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib on June 19," a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said.

Badal urged Ramdev to set up a Yoga-cum-Ayurvedic centre in Punjab near Chandigarh and offered all possible help and support to him.

Responding positively to the proposal, the yoga guru asked the chief minister to provide land for establishing the centre and expressed hope that "this initiative would go a long way in creating awareness amongst the masses about health and hygiene by practising yoga".

Asserting that people now-a-days are very health cosncious, the chief minister told Ramdev that the proposed centre would prove to be a useful platform to promote yoga on the scientific lines on one hand and benefitting people to get themselves cured from ailments with Ayurvedic therapy on the other.

Ramdev was accompanied by Chief Coordinator, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar Dr Jaideep Arya.
