One more victim of aerial spraying of banned endosulfan in this North Kerala district died at his residence near here today after undergoing treatment for a mysterious kidney ailment and skin diseases.

KASARAGOD: One more victim of aerial spraying of banned endosulfan in this North Kerala district died at his residence near here today after undergoing treatment for a mysterious kidney ailment and skin diseases.

Seventy-year-old Sangamulya, a casual worker, residing close to the state owned Cashew Plantation Corporation estate near Ethadukka died after undergoing prolonged treatment for the ailment and skin diseases, official sources here said.

Sangamulya had attended the state government sponsored medical camps for endosulfan victims, the sources said.

Several people staying close to the cashew planation corporation estates dotted in 11 panchayats of the worst hit district are grappling with mysterious diseases, caused by unscientific aerial spraying of endosulfan pesticide, which had been banned since 2000 following intense protests from local people and various voluntary agencies.
