JAMSHEDPUR: Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha on Monday demanded fresh elections in Jharkhand, which is currently under President's Rule, as no party has come forward to form a government.

Sinha questioned why the Governor did not recommend dissolution of the state Assembly, which was suspended.

He said that the BJP recently chalked out a course of action to mount pressure on the state administration to dissolve the state Assembly and recommend fresh elections.

He said there was no justification on stretching President's Rule when no political party has staked claim to form a government.

He also blamed JMM leader and former deputy chief minister Hemant Soren for the fall of BJP-led coalition in 2009.
