Would facilitate pro-Telangana rally in Seemandhra: APNGOs

Meanwhile, two constables of the Armed Reserve Police, attached to Medak district, caused a mild flutter at the rally by shouting 'Jai Telangana' slogan.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association today welcomed its Telangana counterpart's decision to hold a public meeting in Seemandhra region, and also said it would make necessary arrangements for the event.

"We welcome the TNGOs proposal to hold a meeting in Seemandhra to propagate their demand for a separate state. We will make necessary arrangements for it," APNGOs Association president P Ashok Babu said here today.

Talking to reporters at the end of the 'Save Andhra Pradesh' rally organised by the Association here, Babu said, "As we have expressed our feelings for a unified state, our Telangana counterparts too have the right to espouse their cause for a separate state."

The Telangana NGOs leader Devi Prasad, earlier in the day, had said they proposed to organise a rally soon either in Visakhapatnam or Vijayawada as a counter to today's rally.

Meanwhile, two constables of the Armed Reserve Police, attached to Medak district, caused a mild flutter at the rally by shouting 'Jai Telangana' slogan.

However, they were immediately whisked away by other policemen.
