KOZHIKODE: More than 30,000 plants and saplings were planted by cadets and children at the Indian Naval Academy at nearby Ezhimala on the occasion of World Environment Day today.

Vice Admiral P Ajit Kumar, Commandant, INA, inaugurated the tree plantation drive in which senior Naval Officers and their families actively took part, a release from INA said.

As part of the afforestation drive and 'Go-Green' endeavour, the naval station planted various types of fruit bearing, non-fruit bearing, medicinal, herbal and decorative plants, it said.
