World Cultural Festival will give call for a clean Yamuna: Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra
NEW DELHI: Amid controversy over the World Cultural Festival organised by Art of Living Foundation on the floodplains of Yamuna, Delhi Tourism and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra said the event will give a call for a clean river, which sees high level of pollution.

"We are thankful to Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji for choosing Delhi to organise the event. In years perhaps, such a big event is being organised along the banks of Yamuna. Each of us is talking about Yamuna. This event will give a call for a clean Yamuna," Mishra said.

Yesterday, Swaraj Abhiyan leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav had attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the event. Organising the event on the flood plains have also invited criticism from environmentalists and the National Green Tribunal.

The three-day festival, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this evening, will see several VIPs including Kejriwal attending it.
