World can remove terror by note recall: Uddhav Thackeray
NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray criticised the Modi government’s note replacement exercise by saying that people were facing hardships even a month after the decision. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim that the exercise would help in drying up terror funding he said that the rest of the world, especially terrorism-hit nations, can now easily follow the experiment to overcome the menace of terror. He also chided the attempt to equate people standing in queue with patriotism.

“Well, Modiji has shown the way to the world how to tackle terrorism by way of demonetisation. Terror-hit countries all can now emulate India’s demonetisation to easily solve the problem of terrorism”, Thackeray said addressing a rare press conference in New Delhi on Thursday. “Right in the beginning we had said the demonetisation should not cause hardship to people. Modiji said everything will be fine after 50 days. Thirty days have gone. Now wait for 20 more days for ache din,” he said while lamenting that people’s voices were not being heard even in Parliament and felt the government and others should seriously take the views of BJP veteran LK Advani’s criticism of non-functioning of Parliament.
