World Bank to provide Haiti aid worth $100 million
The bank's sister institution, the International Monetary Fund, said it also was ready to provide help to Haiti as quickly as possible.

The bank said it was sending experts to work with the government and its international partners to assess the scope of the damage and help prioritize where needs are greatest.
The bank's country director for the Caribbean, Yvonne Tsikata, said money provided to Haiti could be used for budget support to help the government or more practically for school reconstruction.
