Won't be surprised if snap polls take place in Maharashtra: NCP president Sharad Pawar
MUMBAI: NCP president Sharad Pawar today said he would not be surprised if there is mid-term poll in Maharashtra soon after BMC (Mumbai municipal corporation) elections.

"I won't be surprised if there are Assembly elections in Maharashtra soon after BMC elections or if there is a change within the government," Pawar said, speaking to reporters at Karad in western Maharashtra.

Congress and NCP could provide a viable alternative in Maharashtra, the NCP leader added.

BMC elections are slated for early 2017.
