Won't allow anti-India acts on our soil, says Myanmar
Myanmar assured India on Monday that it will not "countenance" activities against India by insurgent groups from its territory, official sources said.

The assurance came from Myanmar leaders in their interactions with foreign minister Sushma Swaraj, who paid a day-long visit to Myanmar capital Nay Pyi Taw.

This was the first high-level engagement between the two countries since Aung San Suu Kyi's NLD party took over in Myanmar. Swaraj met Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw and Suu Kyi, the state counsellor and the country's foreign minister.

A government source said both sides agreed to work for peace and security along the border. Swaraj invited both Myanmar president and the state counsellor to India.
