Without naming Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad says ego has hit unity

PATNA: In a veiled attack on his ally, JD(U) chief and CM Nitish Kumar, for refusing to join the chorus against BJP's demonetisation move, RJD boss Lalu Prasad said on Tuesday that "personal ego" of people was obstructing opposition unity.

Without taking Nitish's name, Lalu said the opposition is united on the issue of hardship facing the people following currency invalidation. "But personal ego of many people is not allowing them to come on one platform," Lalu said, indicating his unhappiness with Nitish for supporting the demonetisation decision.

"I am not bothered about who is supporting the protest. We will go ahead with our demonstration against note ban on Wednesday. I will sit on a dharna at Gardanibagh to highlight people's hardship across the country," Lalu said.
