Withdraw statement or face legal action, Oommen Chandy tells V S Achuthanandan
“The truth is that there is not even a single case pending against me,” he said. He asked Achuthanandan to withdraw the statement and apologise.

It is in this context that Chandy has said Achuthanandan is spreading lies about him. Achuthanandan said there were 31 cases pending against Chandy in the court. In a press statement, Chandy said Achuthanandan should provide the case details to all.
“The truth is that there is not even a single case pending against me,” he said. He asked Achuthanandan to withdraw the statement and apologise.
He said that if someone files a petition in the court or lodges a complaint in the police station it cannot be treated as a case.
A case starts with an FIR. He asked Achuthanandan to produce the FIR in any one case. The opposition leader had said that around 131 cases were registered against the 18 cabinet ministers in the Chandy ministry.
Chandy pointed out that only one FIR has been filed against a Cabinet minister and that was against the finance minister K M Mani.
But this case has been probed by the Vigilance department. The department has submitted the report in the court.
