NEW DELHI: The Opposition members created an uproar in the Lok Sabha with Congress MP MK Raghavan alleging that “lotus emblem” was being printed on new passports brought for distribution. He said such passports have been issued in his Kozhikode constituency.

“Lotus is printed inside a rectangle on the page where passport officers’ signature and seal are seen,” Raghavan said during the Zero Hour. He said the matter has been highlighted by a Malayalam newspaper, alleging this was an example of “further saffronisation” of government establishment.

“I urge the government to withdraw these booklets and initiate an inquiry into this,” Raghavan said.
