With over 94,000 new voters, CBE district has a 26.87 lakh voters

COIMBATORE: A total of 94,174 new voters have been added to the final electoral roll of the district, comprising 10 Assembly constituencies, taking the total electorate to over 26.87 lakh.

Of the new voters, women outnumber men in all constituencies, 49,070 to 45,083 while 'others' number 21.

In the total 26,87,303 voters in 10 constituencies, women number 13,44,856, compared to 13,42,345 male voters and others 102, according to the roll released today by District Collector Archana Patnaik.

Female voters outnumbered men in Mettupalayam, Sulur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi and Valparai assembly constituencies.

Kavundapalayam has the largest number of voters at 3,88,165 and Valparai the lowest with 1,87,705 voters.

Singanallur constituency has the largest number of others 15, followed by Mettupalayam 16, Coimbatore South 15 and Thondamuthur 13.

There were 1,16,657 applications for new enrolment, 1,402 for deleton, 17,104 for alteration and 7,075 for address change, it said.
