Winter may get worse; rain, snow likely in J&K, Himachal
Rain and snow are likely to occur over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

The lowest minimum temperature of 1.6°C was recorded at Churu (Rajasthan) in the plains on Thursday evening. “On January 4-5, light rain and snow would occur at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir. However, heavy rain and snow fall are expected from January 7-8. This will bring down the minimum temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius,” said DP Yadav, head of National Weather Forecasting Centre at IMD in New Delhi.
According to Yadav, the minimum temperature in the national capital will fall to 3 degree Celsius by Friday from 5 degree Celsius on Thursday.
The minimum temperature would fall by 1-2°C over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and by 2-3 °C over Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha during next the 48 hours.
In the plains, rain and thundershowers would occur from January 4 at isolated places over Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh. Moderate fog would occur at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP and at a few places over northwest Madhya Pradesh, north Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, south Assam and Tripura in the morning hours during the next 48 hours.
