'Will work hard to get maximum help for drought-hit farmers'
NAGPUR: A day after he was appointed as the Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council, NCP leader Dhananjay Munde today said he would strive hard to secure "maximum help" from government for drought-hit farmers.

"Marathwada and Vidarbha regions are facing the worst times in history of the state. Water scarcity is the biggest problem of the day followed by (shortage of) fodder for cattle. I myself toured four districts with Ajit dada (senior NCP leader and ex-deputy CM Ajit Pawar) and that enabled us to see first hand how bad the problem is.

"During this difficult time that are being faced by the farmers of these regions, I will work hard to ensure that the government lives up to its promises of helping farmers affected by drought. I will try my best to see the state gives maximum help to these farmers," Munde told reporters here.

Munde, nephew of senior BJP leader (late) Gopinath Munde, said his responsibilities as an LoP have increased as he is the youngest person to occupy the post.
