Maharashtra crisis: Will take a call at right time, says BJP's CT Ravi

Ever since the crisis started, Ravi has been 'shuttling between Delhi and Mumbai and meeting party leaders' to discuss the matter. BJP has, in the meanwhile, denied the Thackeray camp's allegation that it's behind the crisis.

BJP is closely monitoring the developments in Maharashtra and 'will take a call at the right time'.

"We are the single-largest party. The mandate was for a BJP-led government. It was Shiv Sena which betrayed us," BJP general secretary and state incharge CT Ravi told ET. "If an opportunity comes, we are ready to take a decision which will be in the best interest of people of Maharashtra," he said.

Ever since the crisis started, Ravi has been 'shuttling between Delhi and Mumbai and meeting party leaders' to discuss the matter.

BJP has, in the meanwhile, denied the Thackeray camp's allegation that it's behind the crisis. "It is unfortunate that Shiv Sena is blaming BJP for its problems. There is no connection between BJP and the current issue," BJP's Sudhir Mungantiwar told media persons in Mumbai on Sunday. "You (Shiv Sena) need to get out of your arrogance and ego. Are these MLAs Junior KG students that they can be influenced?"

Sources told ET that BJP wasn't in a hurry to form a government. The party is well aware of the legal battle ahead and is accordingly moving its cards.

Till the picture becomes clearer, BJP has decided not to meet the rebels.
