LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government today said it will soon take a call on extending the term of one-man inquiry commission probing Muzaffarnagar riots that left over 60 people dead.

Justice(ret) Vishnu Sahai had sought six months extension from the UP government after his two-month deadline to submit the report came to an end on November 11.

"A decision with regard to extending the term of the justice Sahai commission will be taken soon," Special Secretary (Home) Saroj Kumar said.

The commission was constituted by the UP government on September 10.
